Asian A.V. Club newsletter #51: Maggie Kang

Call us nerds but we are fans of the animation film Kpop Demon Hunters! So we just had to get co-director and creator Maggie Kang onto #AAVC to chat with us.

We here at #AAVC were instantly sold on Kpop Demon Hunters basically from the title alone, but then when we saw the colorful fun trailer a month ago, we knew we had to talk to the film’s creator and co-director, Maggie Kang.

Between the origins story of how Maggie got into the animation world, to how shamans in Korea are predominantly female, the definition of «chibi» and bringing in kpop powerhouse Teddy Park to write songs for the soundtrack, we covered alot of ground in the short amount of time with the talented Kang.
